Now that things are getting really busy, you know, back to school for the kids, back to school for me, the teenager returning, work getting crazy busy, etc, I thought it would be a good time to return to the blog. No specific agenda, just the desire to chronicle some of the happenings.
That said, the above picture is from a recent trip Diane and I took to Atlanta, GA. The teenager, (the one in the middle) completed phase 2 of basic training. He'll arrive home with us in a few days for the next phase of his life. Not sure what that is yet, but he'll find his way.
I/we are very proud of him.

Well, as you can see, completion is near. Other than the hand rail at the stairs, and a few other minor details, the deck is done. Some new furniture will be procured soon and I imagine that some sort of gathering will need to be had. I can only guess that the neighbors are pleased that the deck was not left in the state it was last summer. It's been a very satisfying project.

I know, it's been a long time. Here we go. The deck is really looking good. The end is in sight. Still a few things to finish. Top rail, hand rail for the stairs, skirt to hide the ugly concrete underneath, new mail box, new house number sign. Stay tuned for more pics, and maybe more posts.
